The Full Story
"To those who paint the world each day with the colours of their feelings. To those who hope." -Ian S. Thomas
~Let me explain this quote a little bit. It's from one of my favorite books: I Wrote This For You, a beautiful collection of poetry and photography. Hauntingly sad, and yet quietly hopeful, it was a book that has provided me a great deal of comfort of over the past few years.
~I love the idea of emotions being colors. Red is anger, green is envy, yellow is joy, so on and so forth. However, there are also an infinite number of hues and combinations of colors. It allows for the complexity of human behavior and emotion.
~I've always struggled to express emotions. They're so complicated. Understanding them as colors has helped me to better grasp both how to express my own emotions and how to understand the emotions of others. Hence, the quote.

Disclaimer: I'm not a great writer.
It takes me a while to come up with creative ideas and even longer to find ways to translate those ideas into words.
My desire to be the best I can be often gets confused with a destructive sense of perfectionism, making it difficult to grasp the concept of a draft. "If it's not perfect the first time, it's not going to be."
Emotions are...difficult. Capturing them with something so limited as language? Impossible.
But I can still try. I can try to be creative and I can try to convey ideas to you. I can try to be my best and I can try to understand that mistakes are opportunities for growth. I can try to express emotions and I can try to bare my soul.

That's what this space is for. It's a place for me to dump my ideas, my musings, my experiences. It's a place for me to polish my writing, sharpen my thinking, develop my introspection. It's a place of funny stories, ridiculous happenings, heart-breaking memories, hopeful longings.
I hope you value what you find. Welcome to my mind-garden.
